Preparation for the Competitive Secondary School Teachers Recruitment Exams
Application to do a Master's degree in "Métiers de l'Enseignement, de l'Education et de la Formation, second degré" (MEEF - Careers in Teaching, Education and Training in Secondary Schools).
The École Supérieure du Professorat et de l’Éducation (ESPE) of Aquitaine, a regional Higher Education School devoted to Teacher Training and Education, will open its doors starting in September 2013. This new School, together with the Universities in Bordeaux, will provide training for students who aim at working in the field of teaching, education and training: primary and secondary school teachers, conseillers principaux d'éducation (CPE, in charge of attendance monitoring, disciplinary matters and heading up a school's supervisory team).
These MEEF Master's degrees will be delivered after a two-year degree course. The competitive examinations sessions (CAPES for secondary school teachers, CAPEPS for physical education teachers, etc.) will take place during the second semester of Year 1. Students who succeed in these exams will be pupil teachers (fonctionnaires stagiaires) during Year 2, and will be teaching part-time but will receive a full pay.
